Layfield has an exciting and rewarding full-time, permanent opportunity available for a Technician to join our Manufacturing Team located in Richmond, BC .

Technicians are key production personnel responsible for the proper set-up of equipment or processes in their particular department. They are required to attain maximum levels of productivity, efficiencies and quality in the performance of daily shift workload requirements.


  • Practices safe work habits and reports unsafe conditions.
  • Ensures the correct and accurate packaging, identification and count of goods produced.
  • Monitors equipment performance and quality of goods produced. Reports deficiencies in either to the Operators.
  • Responsible for the complete and accurate recording of production on his lines. This includes Shop Clock, Ritescan and Unipoint.
  • Responsible for maintaining a well-organized and clean work area that meets PAC Secure requirements.
  • Responsible for the proper use and storage of tools and accessories on the lines.
  • Assists Operators with changeovers, set ups and adjustments.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Lab and development of new testing techniques.

Core Competencies

  • Can operate complex winders, maintain small presses, print units, and packaging machinery.
  • Can competently perform all required Quality testing necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability and willingness to work shift work (day/evening/night) and weekends (overtime shifts).
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must be safety conscious.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Completion of high school is preferred.
  • 6 months in the blown film industry.
