Systems Administrator
Description
Our client is a growing company looking for talented and motivated IT professionals to join them as a Systems Administrator.

You will be part of thier core Managed Services Operations team and your primary role will be focused on Windows/AD/Exchange/SQL Sharepoint and Office 365 technologies.
You will participate and work with the System Architects in the design, planning, testing, deployment, management and support of networks that are small, medium and large complex server implementations. This includes Windows technologies, Microsoft messaging and collaboration solutions hosted in various co-located Data Centers, third party IaaS/SaaS clouds and client on premise sites.
As Team member your responsibilities are:

  • Research new and existing technologies
  • Provide Tier 3 technical support for our clients
  • Communicate to customers: keeping them informed of progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages, etc.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer’s needs
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Support complex application solutions primarily based on Microsoft technologies (Windows, AD and Exchange)
  • Support Cloud technologies (Microsoft Office 365, Skype for Business and Microsoft Azure, etc.), Knowledge of cloud technologies like IAAS, Private Cloud, Cloud storage and Virtual Desktops.
  • Support complex virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V and KVM)
  • Support diverse networks and network technologies not limited to Cisco routing and switching (VPN,WAN, LAN and WIFI connectivity)
  • Mobile device support (iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows phone/tablet)
  • On-site server and desk side support
  • VOIP phone system troubleshooting and support
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to be used as SOP and environment assessments as well as remediation planning
  • Monitor, manage, maintain and optimize assigned technical environments
  • Troubleshoot issues related to software, compute, storage and networking
  • Open and manage support cases with external parties (product vendors, service providers and manufacturers)
  • Research, test and deploy software patches/updates and features. Ensure conformance with our clients operating guidelines and service level agreements
  • Utilize existing ITSM solution for management and reporting of Incident, Problem, Service Request and Change Requests
  • Communicate status updates associated with changes, issues and projects with internal and external parties
  • Some travel, after-hours, on-call and shift work will be required

An Ideal Candidate Possesses:

  • University Degree and/or related Technical Diplomas are encouraged. (B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology Management is preferred.)
  • IT technical certifications would be of benefit to a successful candidate. A MCSE or MCITP is required. CCNA is a definite asset.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Server Admin
  • Must be experienced with analysis, design, and development of enterprise AD/Exchange applications
  • Must have experience with basic administration tasks for SQL Server and hands-on experience with IIS, Sharepoint, Office 365, Azure, Active Directory and Windows Server
  • Must have outstanding analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and respond quickly to provide options and action plans to solve the problem
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (StorageCraft, Symantec and Paragon)
  • Working knowledge of Hardware, Network, Storage layers, NAS and SAN technologies.
  • PowerShell/Scripting experience from an automation context
  • Credible and professional presence; ability to interact effectively with clients and team members; often via phone and/or e-mail
  • Must have experience successfully coordinating with internal and external customers, vendors, and organizations to complete tasks
  • Ability to work Shift rotation (day, evening and night)
  • Knowledge of IP subnetting, IPV6, firewalls, routers, VPN technologies and internet services is a must have.Experience in a Service Provider environment a plus (Managed Services / NOC experience),Amazon Web Services experience a plus
  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and 24/7 access to a vehicle
  • Bilingual optional (French, Spanish, and Cantonese, etc)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $75,000.00 /year
