Reporting to the Kitimat Valley Institute (KVI) Education Manager, you will work closely with KVI staff and Haisla Nation Council employment, education and training department personnel. As a Student Liaison you will be responsible for assisting Haisla Nation clients to access relevant training, funding and referrals to relevant (funding and support) agencies within the region.
You will also assist in the coordination of program and class development that meets the clientele needs. This term position will provide input, support and reporting on clientele needs, programs and assistance.

Term: June 17 to August 19, 2016 (9 weeks)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicants must be a returning post-secondary student or new graduate
• Preference will be provided to a First year graduate from Education or Administration studies.
• Related work experience in Education/training and/or trades fields would be beneficial
• Direct experience working with First Nations clientele
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability and willingness to do group presentations
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
• Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to privacy
• Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence or “N” Licence and own vehicle required
• Willing to provide a criminal record check
• Must be a local resident of Kitimat or Kitamaat Village, BC
