Student Em ployment Opportunity – Assistant Educator- Two Positions
Monday to Friday; 35-40 hrs per week Contract Commencing July 4th, 2016
Overview for Assistant Educator Positions
Must be professionally prepared as an assistant educator of young children, in the field of Early Childhood Education and Development, and have the ability to effectively interact with children and parents/guardians as well as other educators. The successful candidate must be reliable and they must have outstanding communication and skills to provide leadership and stability for the centre’s program continuity.
Must be able to plan, supervise, implement, and maintain a developmentally appropriate program and environment for the children, which corresponds with the policies and philosophies of the centre.

Qualifications:

• Experience supervising young children and working in a team
• Knowledge of child development and the needs of young children
• Demonstrated awareness of food allergies and health and safety practices in licensed child care
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; be flexible to the needs of the children and the centre as a whole
• Reliable and self-motivated, ability to build positive working relationships with children, families and other educators
• Satisfactory current Criminal Reference Check, including Child Abuse Register screening
• Up to date First Aid certification

Must be a current student returning to their studies in Sept 2016
