Job Summary

KidSport believes that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports. KidSport provides support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sport, by covering registration fees of qualified applicants.

Responsibilities and Duties

Job Description/Key Responsibilities:

Applicant Administration

  • Responsible for processing of all KidSport applications.
  • Main point of contact for KidSport families seeking financial assistance.
  • Ensure process is efficient for qualified families and reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Preparing data and information for regular reporting to the committee and community.

Third-Party Events

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all third-party event partners
  • Track and evaluate all third-party partnerships
  • Maintain and distribute all required marketing and informational materials required to support third-party events and partnerships
  • Maintain a contact list and files for third party event agreements and partnerships
  • Initiate and deliver third-party thank you letters and recognition
  • Ensure brand standards are being met

Communication

  • Build content and maintain active social media presence on KidSport Wood Buffalo & Area’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts
  • Maintain a current and accurate website, providing all the necessary info and resources to the general public

Financial Management

  • Understanding the budget and direct impact for your role
  • Exercise sound accounting practices with accurate tracking and timely financial reporting to the board
  • Monthly submission and accurate tracking of personal expenses and organization credit card utilization
  • Ensure the security and privacy of all personal information and all staff and volunteers adhere to the safety and security of this information

Volunteer Program

  • Schedule volunteers for fundraising and outreach events as well as in office support
  • Maintain regular communication with volunteers
  • Review and update volunteer application and screening process on a regular basis
  • Educate and prepare volunteers for any events or shifts they are taking to ensure they have all the information they require to be effective

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Must be able to tailor messaging and communication style to our diverse community based on audience (KidSport families, event partners, donors)
  • Ability to tell the KidSport story – preference given to candidates who can speak passionately about the role of sport in their life and community
  • Completion of a post secondary education degree
  • Past customer service/relations experience
  • Good understanding of and skills with social media management

Scheduling: This position will require a flexible schedule, including availability on evenings and weekends. Hours will be self-managed and reported to committee chair. No overtime eligibility.

Contract Length: November 6, 2017-April 31, 2018

Hours: 40 hours per week
