Information Technology – Tier II Technologist
1.0 FTE starting in November 2016
Salary range is $43,813 – $52, 841 per annum
KidsAbility is currently seeking a focused individual to fill the position of Tier II Technologist within Information Technology Services at KidsAbility. This position will be providing the second level of support to end users by handling service requests that have been escalated by the HelpDesk. The provision of excellent customer service is a critical component of this position as it has a very high presence in the organization. Support will be provided onsite, remotely, over the phone or via email. The incumbent will be required to have the ability to analyze existing systems and make proactive recommendations for improvements.
Reporting to the Information Technology Manager, the Tier II Technologist key responsibilities include:

  • Provides a resolution for escalated service tickets
  • Works with clients/customers to evaluate and solve technical problems
  • Evaluates existing systems and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement system changes
  • Configures and supports internal and/or external networks
  • Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations
  • Troubleshoots network performance
  • Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment
  • Maintains a log of completed work using the incident-tracking application


  • Candidates have a minimum of 2 years recent computer, server and network troubleshooting experience
  • Must be resourceful and able to take initiative within a dynamic environment
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot technical problems
  • Advanced knowledge of current Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
  • Advances knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Exchange, SharePoint and other server applications
  • Advanced knowledge of programming and script authoring
  • Familiarity with network troubleshooting
  • Professional customer service skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to work as an integral member of a team and the ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships both internally and externally
  • Use of an automobile with public liability and property damage is required
