Key Food Equipment Services is looking for a permanent IT Technician for its Head Office in Burnaby. The ideal candidate will be personable, organized and tech-savvy, and someone who thrives on working independently, with the ability to focus and prioritize. This is a fast-paced industry, where change is constant and there is always something challenging and interesting to work on. This is a full-time position, with some travel required, and occasional evenings and weekend work.
Summary
The IT Technician is responsible for working with the IT team to provide all aspects of the Information Technology function so that team members can service customers and other stakeholders. The IT system covers everything from integrating systems and applying OS patches to maintaining the website and developing apps; and from monitoring warranties and data security to providing technical support. By assisting with the IT operations, this individual is responsible for the ability of Key to conduct business on a day-to-day basis.
Core Responsibilities

Supports all aspects of the IT hardware and software with direction from the IT Leader.
Provides IT support services to users by troubleshooting and resolving IT issues.
Provides advice and training to users on all Company systems.
Works with IT Team to maintain data security and integrity.
Liaises with service providers, end users, and other stakeholders as needed to ensure that all aspects of the Company’s IT system and needs are met.
Participates in the redesign of applications and other software

Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications

High school graduation required.
Enrollment in a technical IT program at an accredited institution. Completion of program is preferred.
Relevant system certifications would be preferred, such as: CCENT or CCT, MCSE, CompTIA Network+.
Experience with VM Ware and QlikView would be an asset.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of networking, operating system, and server architectures.
Good working knowledge of programming concepts, software development cycles, and associated tools platforms.
Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to nontechnical audiences.
Minimum 50 wpm.
