The Demand Planner is responsible for establishing sales forecasts for all product categories assigned to him/her based on analyses and available information. He/she mainly interacts and communicates with the Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, and Supply Planning departments in order to produce the most accurate possible projections of demand across monthly S&OP cycles.

Responsibilities

Work with Sales to develop and maintain up-to-date product demand forecasts.

Develop and update statistics- and promotions-based forecasts to support projections for the products and regions assigned.

Monitor demand and identify any divergences from the forecasts on a daily basis, and circulate updated projections.

Contribute to effective communications regarding adjustments to be made and the dissemination of information.

Set up and maintain weekly discussions with the Production and Product Supply departments.

Validate the accuracy of the database and be the point person for realignment activities.

Be involved in the general sales planning cycle.

Report on the overall accuracy of projections and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Secure and maintain key company actors’ super-user status on forecasting software programs.

Recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist in the documentation of all new and existing processes.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in the supply-chain management field

Bachelor’s degree in logistics, operations, statistics, business, or other mathematics-related field

Experience in production, inventory, or demand planning

Experience with forecasting software

Knowledge of Excel, Access, and Word

Competencies
