About the Job
The primary responsibility is to market manage a select group of wellness/grocery or specialty brands. Main accountability for the brand management component is measured in margin dollar delivery, volume delivery, expense control and inventory control. Other qualitative areas of measurement include core principal satisfaction, customer satisfaction and interpersonal relationship development with company associates. The associate brand manager will assist with coordinating marketing administrative functions for other Brand Managers and act as back-up for certain core brands. Accountable for overall gross margin dollar delivery for assigned brands vs. budgeted levels.
Accountable for overall volume and net sales dollar delivery vs. established marketing plan levels.
Accountable for expense budget control and status reporting.
Accountable for long term growth of core brands.
Inventory control to ensure adequate order fill ratios (95%+), lowest possible inventory levels and age. Forecast sales demand on a routine basis
Principal liaison on tactical and strategic issues on brands with direct responsibility. Positive development of TOL reputation for professionalism and results delivery.
Customer accountability through the sales department for assigned brands. Liaise with sales management to ensure TOL, principal and customer objective fulfillment.
Timely billing and required follow-up for collection of all Vendor charge-backs (MCB’s).
Development and control of annual fiscal product budgets.
Brand performance variance rationalization as required.
Ensure that all brand related administrative functions are performed in a timely and cost efficient manner.
Must maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.
Other duties and special projects as requested.
Experience and Qualifications Required
A minimum of two (2) years consumer packaged goods marketing experience with proven track record of accomplishments and results
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales or Marketing highly preferred
Proficiency in MS Office required with strong presentation skills (Power Point)
Experience with Cognos and AS400 preferred
Strong communication skills (oral and written) and fluent in English with above average presentation skills with ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, management and vendors.
Demonstrated analytical skills, superior organizational and multi-tasking skills, strong negotiation skills, and working knowledge of category management.
Excellent interpersonal abilities; ability to get along with diverse personalities and develop strong business relationships; tactful, mature, and flexible. Must have good reasoning abilities and sound judgment
High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
Ability to establish credibility and be decisive but be able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities
Ability to structure and implement procedures
Aptitude and desire to work towards a Brand Management role
