The Community Reintegration Officer (CRO) will be under the professional supervision of a Probation Officer of the Québec Correctional Services and the administrative supervision of the Assistant Director – Socio-Judicial Services of the KRG Legal, Socio-Judicial and Municipal Management Department. The CRO will provide support to client-offenders, acts as liaison with the community and with the Correctional Services and the judicial system. Specific duties shall include, but not be limited to

  • Inform and supervise client-offenders on probation, parole, community work orders, conditional sentence orders or temporary absence programs and fill out all relevant form;
  • Act as a liaison officer between the community and client‑offenders in order to develop adapted reintegration interventions;
  • Work closely with the Correctional Services (Ministry of Public Security) and the judicial system in order to inform of the needs and expectations of the communities in terms of corrections and suggest ways of intervening with clients that are adapted to Inuit customs and values;
  • Record all required information in accordance with the Correctional Services policies and forms;
  • Develop community projects to promote social integration and Inuit values;
  • Be an influent resource and a responsible citizen within his community;
  • Travel to other communities to meet clients and attend circuit court sessions in Nunavik;
  • Perform other related duties, as required, by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Secondary V diploma, although relevant work experience will also be considered;
  • Bilingual: Inuktitut-English, French is an asset;
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Reliable, resourceful, have initiative;
  • Excellent ability to assist and support other people;
  • Demonstrate professional autonomous and ability to work with minimum supervision;
  • Good moral character;
  • Willing to travel every month in the region;
  • Being able to work in a computerized environment.

Salary:

Min. $34,778 yearly – Max. $58,543 a year (Class 7)

  • Cost of living differential: minimum of $8,500 per year.
  • Food allowance: minimum of $3,453 per year.
