Commercial Tire Technician

Kal Tire is recruiting for a Commercial Tire Technician at our Regina, SK store location. As the ideal candidate, you have a strong desire to be in the automotive industry, have a passion for people and understand the true value of good customer service. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will perform front shop and alignment work on a wide variety of commercial equipment and trucks. We will provide a thorough training program that includes hands on experience, product and safety training.

Kal Tire is the largest independently owned tire dealer in Canada. Our 250 store locations offer a clean and safe work environment, encouraging a motivating and fun atmosphere. We are looking for relentless problem solvers who not only have strong technical skills but who are also good communicators.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair and perform service work on a wide variety of commercial tires and wheels
  • Provide exceptional customer service and exceed every customers expectations
  • Ensure the job is completed safely and on time
  • Assist team members and perform other duties as required

Position Requirements:

  • You have previous experience in the automotive industry
  • You have previous experience with Commercial Heavy Truck Tires
  • You have a mechanical aptitude and take pride in maintaining your own vehicle and tools
  • You are methodical and patient in your approach; you have a keen eye for detail
  • You are a strong team player who is able to work unsupervised
  • You have the ability to excel in a physically demanding environment
  • You have a valid driver’s license. A class 1 driver’s license or heavy equipment operator experience is considered an asset
  • You must hold a clean Driver’s Abstract

Education Requirement:

  • A high school diploma is a minimum requirement
  • Applicable training courses such as an automotive pre-employment program or high school shop would be considered an asset

  • You continually strive to provide exceptional customer service and exceed every client’s expectations.
  • You have the ability to excel in a physically demanding environment that includes heavy lifting and moving constantly throughout your shift.
  • Perform tire removal/installation/repair service safely for all passenger and light truck vehicles. This includes removing wheel assemblies, dismounting tires, balancing, inflating and installing repaired or replacement tires, and reinstalling wheel assemblies according to procedure. This also includes diagnosing injuries, evaluating repairability, and choosing and carrying out proper repair methods.
  • Contribute to a safe and environmentally responsible workplace by following all safety and environmental policies and rules and by taking an active approach to accident prevention and environmental protection.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Grade 12 or GED.
  • Contribute to an upbeat atmosphere in the workplace by supporting and providing assistance to other team members.
  • You have excellent communication skills, a mechanical aptitude and detail oriented.
