The Finance team consists of Accounting, FP&A and the CFO providing fiduciary, forecasting/analysis and overall strategic direction respectively. The team utilizes the same information at different levels of granularity and at different angles requiring a sense of teamwork and customer focus to accomplish interrelated objectives. The primary source of data for Finance comes from the transactional games and payments systems via the Business Intelligence team acting as a service provider to Finance and other departments. The Finance team depends on the efficient bridging and synthesis of data from various sources.

Day to day:
Liaison with Corporate Accounting to record all authorized financial transactions into the company’s general ledger and sub ledgers, including daily journal entries and the closing of the ledgers each month.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, including review of account reconciliations.
Perform monthly Budget vs Actual variance analysis for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Assist with the preparation and coordination of clean and timely year-end audit as well as other types of audits.
Work with FP&A and other business units to ensure accuracy and completeness of balance sheet and income statement totals and to support budget and forecasting activities
Support the Accounting Group with special, ad-hoc projects.
Work with the external payroll provider and Human Resources to ensure payroll is correct each pay period
Liaison with Bank for day to day operations.
Interface directly with FP & A
Responsible for local GL coding ( account, department, and class)
Specific tax and statutory support for Canadian legal entity

Career Progression:
This role provides experience within an international organization that sits at the heart of the digital services market. The position is a 4 month contract to cover a maternity leave.

Bachelor’s degree in a finance or accounting oriented major.

5-7 years’ experience as an Accounting Manager
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understands Canadian and US GAAP
Strong system experience such as NetSuite and Anaplan
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Strong operational experience
Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
Specific experience working with a global company (preferably US)
Ability to learn new systems and software quickly
