The SAP Support Functional Consultant provides consultation services to the SAP Manager/Director to help resolve functional issues, develop solutions, and improve procedures by implementing Best Business Practices in SAP. He/She will also provide insight based on years of SAP experience, to help recommend the correct solution based on detailed analysis of the pros & cons to any given situation, as requested by the SAP manager.The SAP Support Functional Consultant is responsible for supporting and promoting the correct use of SAP processes and for developing SAP functionality. The person will be required to work with the key / super users, SAP support team, Business Analysts and the different departments within the organization.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Critical responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Responsible for supporting SAP applications that enable operations for all Business Units.
Responsible for supporting and promoting the correct use of SAP processes and for developing SAP functionality.
The person will be required to work with the key / super users, SAP support team, and the different business departments Responsible for 2nd & 3rd Level Support, as well as on Analysis, Design, Development (Configuration), testing, documentation and implementation, as requested by the Business Units, under the Governance of the SAP Director.
Ability to successfully manage working relationships in a distributed and offshore-centric support model that employs both internal and external support personnel Work with SAP programmers and provide support in the testing and advancement of developments, primarily in the QM and PP modulesExecute test scripts for new functionality, and document results.
Obtain user acceptance where applicable, and required approval through Change Request process for all modifications to configurationWork with external consultants to resolve complex and/or timely problems/ projectsMaintain SOP’s & BPP’s up-to-date with any functional and/or procedural changes and improvements
Write Unit Test Scripts and Integration Test scripts to document testing required to prove solution meets requirements Help develop key-users and super-users SAP skills and understanding to enable them to better support the user base in their own departmentsEnsure solutions follow strict adherence to Pharmaceutical cGMP standards and Generally Accepted Accounting principalsReview all SAP related training material to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness
Contribute and participate in New SAP Projects, implementations of New SAP Modules, and any other SAP organizational configuration changes requiredStaying current with the developments in SAP and identifying ways to add business value to the NA Business units
University Degree Strong knowledge of an ERP system in particular SAP ;SAP Certification or equal experience + Level III Configuration / Design Courses.
Strong knowledge of cGMP and Good documentation practices
5 to 8 years experience in SAP Support & Development;
Implementation of SAP system and/or participation in major SAP system upgrade;Good understanding of end-to-end business process flow in SAP; inter module dependencies.
Good interpersonal skills; Autonomy, initiative, open to change, results oriented, team worker, strong communicator. Logical, methodical, and analytical.Ability to handle pressureWorking experience is computer system validation in Pharmaceuticals is an asset
