Business Development Associate, Jonas Software – Mergers and Acquisition Division

Reporting directly to the Director, Business Development, the ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, driven, focused, and dynamic individual with effective business-to-business sales skills. This position requires a confident, innovative and business-minded person who can generate and nurture leads, while overcoming objections effectively.


  • Conduct industry and competitive research to identify vertical market software businesses that meet our strategic criteria and specific metrics;
  • Engage with target business owners, shareholders and senior executives regarding the potential acquisition of their business;
  • Develop and grow a deal pipeline through outbound sales efforts ie. email, phone, conferences, trade shows and professional contacts while engaging regularly with existing leads in our database; and
  • Make recommendations to the senior leadership team of Jonas Software to pursue new targets or to enter new and adjacent markets.


  • Demonstrated success in cold calling, prospecting and sales processes
  • 2+ years of Sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business or a related area of study or equivalent is an asset
  • Prior software sales experience in a business to business environment is an asset
  • Ability to effectively overcome objections is a must
  • Strong interpersonal interaction and communication skills


  • Strong understanding software business strategies is a plus
  • Must be self-motivated, have organizational agility and have the ability to plan own work schedule and set and monitor personal performance goals
  • Requires excellent listening skills and tenacity in progressing leads to offer stage
  • Have a positive attitude and work ethic with a strong drive for results
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is an asset
