To support the future growth of the company we are recruiting a HSE & HR Advisor to join our team of professionals.

Brief Description: Reporting to the CHRO, the HSE & HR Advisor is responsible for the health, safety, and environment as well as the human resources functions that include recruitment, organization development, employee engagement, training, and to other administrative functions that support the JATEC Division in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Role Purpose: The purpose of this role is to lead, manage and monitor the health, safety, and environment program that safeguards people, property, and environment. The individual will ensure commitment to our clients and compliance to legislation and client expectations. This person will be involved in human resources functions that include recruitment to hire qualified candidates and follow-through on company retention strategies. This is a critical role to deliver results for a major project that focuses on the following key success factors: Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost Effectiveness, Building Relationships, and Learning. The role will support the company’s ability to create an environment where people will grow and learn and provide best service to the client.

Role objectives:

  • Safety: Safeguard people, property, & environment.
  • Recruitment: Attract & select right person for the right role to get the right results.
  • Retention: Retain an engaged, committed, & productive workforce that achieves results.
  • Monitor Programs, Communicate, & Report: Ensure transparency to company & client.
  • Administrative Support: Facilitate & coordinate communication between field, offices, & vendors.


  • NCSO or higher safety certification.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, Regulation, and Codes.
  • Experience in infrastructure construction is an asset.
  • Class 5 Driver’s license.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
  • Align with JATEC values.
  • Ability to visualize and implement safety and human resources programs for new division.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective hiring, coaching, and training to create a flexible and results focused culture.
  • Strong desire to learn and follow company processes.
