JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Creative Director, the Creative Team Lead empowers team members while maintaining a deep understanding and knowledge of design techniques and software to create our publications. Customer focused, the Creative Team Lead has strong coaching skills, and is able to guide and provide constructive feedback to team members by being an active mentor.

Key Responsibility Areas:
Leads a Creative Design team responsible for page layouts for our print and online products
Facilitates team communication and daily management
Manages performance, development and engagement of a high-performing team
Project work – from concept to execution
Responsible for team key performance indicators
Liaises with the editorial and advertising sales teams in a deadline driven environment
Prioritizes daily/weekly workload according to respective deadlines
Responsible for production of our publications
Training – mentoring team members
Process, troubleshoot and communicate technical issues
Other duties/tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
Education:
A post-secondary degree/diploma in Graphic Design or Business

Experience:
Ability to coach creative artists on proper design techniques and production
Advanced understanding of design software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in graphic arts or business
Familiarity with advanced online and print graphics conventions
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
Must be able to manage several projects simultaneously in order of priority
