We are expanding our operations at our state-of-the-art nursery in Juniper, New Brunswick. The Juniper Tree Nursery is an integrated operation; the nursery has 6 large greenhouses with a capacity to produce up to 25 million containerized seedlings, as well as capacity and fields associated with elite potato seed production. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Seed Farm, Lead Hand Duties for the role include, but are not limited to:
Care and growth of seed potatoes at the nuclear and pre-elite levels.
Working with all aspects of seed potato production.
Operation of equipment associated with planting, crop maintenance, pesticide application and crop harvest.
Light mechanical repairs on equipment as needed. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Good working knowledge of the requirements for seed potato production at the nuclear and pre-elite levels.
5 years of experience in the potato farm industry.
Working knowledge of planters, sprayers, and mechanical potato harvesters.
Technical degree in an agricultural field will be considered an asset.
