Irving Shipbuilding , located at 3099 Barrington Street Halifax NS B3K 5M7, is part of the J.D. Irving Group of companies and is in the business of building quality ships and repairing vessels. The company’s primary site is Halifax Shipyard, with three other locations in the Maritime Provinces. Irving Shipbuilding is currently working on a number of significant projects for the Department of National Defense and the Canadian Coast Guard. Labour and Reporting Analyst

This is a permanent full time staff role based in Halifax NS.


  • Staff labour reporting and report writing for the Halifax Shipyard, Shelburne Ship Repair and Marine Fabricators
  • Providing backup support for hourly timekeeping and labour control
  • Issuing quarterly bonus scorecard payouts
  • Producing weekly staff status reports and outstanding tools reports
  • Approval employee change form submissions for PeopleSoft
  • Maintaining and updating Production Dashboards
  • Processing timecard transfers
  • Various other administrative duties as assigned


  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required (pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc.)
  • Demonstrated fast and accurate data entry speed is required
  • Experience with Kronos, Cognos, and JD Edwards considered an asset
  • Payroll role experience would be considered an asset
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to converse with all levels of management
  • Must feel comfortable with prioritizing workloads and multi-tasking to ensure deadlines and milestones are achieved
  • Experience managing a time entry process would be a strong asset
