We are now looking for an Hardware Design Engineer for our client in Montreal.

As an engineer, with a bachelor degree in electrical engineering and with at least 2 years experience in hardware design and knowledge of data transmission lines, Audio & Video transmission, and high bandwidth system design, you will be part of the R&D team designing and developing high speed video products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage R&D Projects.
  • Develop and design Audio & Video product.
  • Perform a feasibility study of the project.
  • Document the projects according to Muxlab’s standards.
  • Write the project technical specifications.
  • Develop the Electrical schematics.
  • Assist the electrical CAD specialist in the Schematics capture and PCB layout artwork.
  • Build prototypes.
  • Perform the Verification and Validation of the product developed.
  • Participate in the editing of the user’s guide.
  • Coordinate the transfer to production.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Must have a BAC in electrical engineering with a specialty in electronics and or telecommunications.
  • Must be a dynamic, autonomous, and team-oriented individual.
  • To be a member of the OIQ is an asset.
  • Knowledge of data transmission lines, knowledge of various video physical interfaces, and experience in high bandwidth system design.
  • Experience with Twisted pair transmission is an asset.
  • Experience in development of high speed video and audio interfaces is an asset.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems is an asset.
  • Experience in development with a real time operating system and knowledge of microprocessors and micro-controllers is an asset.
  • Experience in FPGA, VHDL programming, DSP, ASIC development as well as HDMI interface development is an asset.
  • Knowledge of communication systems theory and a good understanding of various modulations, BER, NEXT, FEXT, transmission channels, etc. would be an asset
  • Familiarity with the CCTV, audio-video and/or structured cabling environment is an asset.
