We are now looking for a Business Analyst – Senior for our client located in Montreal.

This role is responsible for identifying, eliciting, analyzing, specifying, and validating the business needs of end-users in a particular area of the business, and for specific projects or initiatives. This includes: interviewing stakeholders, analyzing target populations, capturing the “to-be” state and process improvements, and identifying the associated business requirements. These results convey to the Architecture, Change Management and Quality Assurance teams the breadth and nature of the end-users’ needs and environment, thereby driving their solution design, change management and testing efforts. This role also develops and provides subject matter expertise on business processes and the application and usage of systems by the business.

Summary of tasks:

  • Plan Business Analysis activities for project / Initiative / Audience
  • Elicit Business Requirements from Internal / External business partners
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders (Business, IT, Customers, etc.)
  • Analyze, clarify and prioritize requirements with business
  • Requirements management and communication
  • Create and validate the current and future state business processes with business partners
  • Analyze processes to identify business opportunities
  • Verify and validate requirements coverage (meeting business needs)
  • Apply, and ensure compliance with, all appropriate IT standards (eg. Security, Architecture, Project Delivery Methodology, SOX, etc.)

Mandatory skills: 10 years


Transportation Management

Additional responsibilities:

  • Develop an integrated view of the business requirements (backlog) of the specific business stream while ensuring alignment within the larger context
  • Define the required Acceptance Criteria for each requirement
  • Define right KPIs and information inputs/outputs
  • Work closely with Business Partners and key IT groups (Architecture, Design, Change Management, Delivery, Project Management, etc.) to ensure successful project delivery.

Key knowledge:

  • Experience in transportation industry with knowledge in multimodal (rail and trucking) logistics.
  • Knowledgeable in the order, planning and execution of processes related to multimodal shipment.
  • Knowledge of SAP TM or an equivalent is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings, mindful of the impact of organizational change
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize, document, translate and communicate business information to technical teams and vice versa
  • Experience with process mapping
  • Experience with Agile Methodology (Iterative approach), Scrums and sprints cadence
