Job Title Freight and Shipping Supervisor

Job Description
With an increased focus on compliance issues such as the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, the addition of the Process Safety Management program, training needs and expected growth in 2017 IBP is looking for a Freight/Shipping Supervisor.
This position will manage the freight budget, working with Procurement to ensure all shipments utilize best rates by managing daily communication with trucking dispatchers. Management and improvement of metrics (On time ship and delivery, Cost per trip, cost per liter, demurrage and retention charges by carrier) to support cost reductions both internally and with remote warehouses will required.
Opportunity to support Scheduler’s tracking and management of rail cars, assist with bulk load scheduling (DEF, chemical and Lubes) and support management of customer issues.
Route optimization and consolidation of loads will decrease freight costs and overtime, particularly during the last week of the month. Relationships with our carriers will also improve with a focus on more accurate scheduling of trailers.
The position will have multiple direct reports and will also include the management of the IBP warehouse, receipt of raw materials, movement of the inventory and storage of finished goods.
Experience with an ERP System, inventory management, 3-5 years as a leader at a supervisory level, ability to drive a forklift and strong organizational skills is a must.
