Irving Oil Marine Terminal St. John’s provides fuel to a variety of customers at our Pier 24 location. Currently, we are seeking a

Terminal Operations Technician.

This position requires a safety conscious individual who will be responsible to provide exceptional customer service. This is a three-month term position, with the possibility for extension.

Duties include:
Daily operations of a petroleum marine terminal including supervision of contractor activities

Performing inventory stock balancing and reconciliation including tank gauging

Completing ship/shore and operational checklists

Conducting quality checks on petroleum products

Ensuring safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed

Ensuring marine security requirements maintained and serves as a member of the emergency response team.

Perform preventative maintenance through the completion of regular checklists on equipment.

Perform other duties as required for excellent productivity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma and/or a diploma of petroleum engineering or similar program considered an asset.

Experience working in a petroleum or marine environment

Small vessel operator training, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems, Marine Security training would be an asset.

Marine Spill Response training

Marine radio operator certificate

Ability to work a flexible shift system including on call rotations

or proceed with Standard Application Form.
