Tractor Trailer drivers are responsible for safe, accurate and efficient delivery of petroleum products to our customers. This position is responsible for delivering Irving Oil Products to various locations within the required geographical locations. Tasks include pre-trip checks, loading fuel at the refinery, driving truck and delivering products. As a B Train Driver this truck has two trailers, can handle 52,000 – 56,000 liters of product and has a two-brake system.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Perform pre-trip checks
  • Loading fuel at storage facilities/refinery
  • Drive truck to locations
  • Deliver and unload fuel
  • Connecting and disconnecting trailers for loading and off loading facilities.
  • Safely drive tractor trailers to and from locations
  • Communicate as needed with the Operations Coordinator and Specialist.
  • This position requires the person to be able to handle what can be repetitive work.
  • This position can be more stressful because of the nature of the product they will be hauling.
  • Requirement that the drivers to have a higher than normal level of understanding of the equipment and how it operates as they may be asked to trouble shoot issues on trailers in remote locations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Drive truck on rotating 12-hour shifts
  • Lifting, climbing, and heavy physical activity.
  • Requirements:
  • CA- Class 1 designation with air brakes, WHMIS & Dangerous Goods Certification
  • US- CDL Class A with HazMat and tanker endorsements
  • Good verbal and written communication in dealing with Operations Coordinators, Operations Specialists and sometimes dealing with customers
  • Safety Orientation is required
  • Good judgment skills and some technical skills
