We are currently looking for an Area Coordinator to join our growing team. Our Irving Energy business line delivers propane, heating oil and diesel to both commercial and residential customers as well as offering a full complement heating service operation.

Duties include:

  • Teamwork to minimize truck down time by working with managers, loadbuilders, dispatchers, VCC and vendors
  • Develops ways to work more effectively and shares knowledge with others
  • Ability to handle real-time situations quickly with minimal impact to work reassignment in reaction to unplanned driver schedule interruptions (driver sick time and unplanned truck down time)
  • Applies creative approaches to proactively address business issues to achieve win-win solutions
  • Using resources to ensure delivery of the right quality/quantity of products to our customers, in the right timeframe
  • Identifies issues that may impact the quality of work and takes initiative to address issues as appropriate
  • Works to reduce truck down time to allow for more productive delivery time for drivers
  • Conveys a sense of urgency and moves issues to closure through effective planning and prioritizing of activities
  • Performs accurate and timely account maintenance and reporting to ensure data accuracy supports on time delivery and safe delivery practices
  • Effectively communicates and responds to different situations and audiences
  • Manages positive relationships with drivers, managers and internal and external customers
  • Demonstrates and communicates Company values
  • Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance customer relations and departmental productivity
  • Flexibility to be cross-trained for other department roles as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment with a positive attitude
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required by business needs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.


  • High School Required. Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience in a logistics & distribution environment, with a customer service background would be an asset
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Must be able to multitask, respond quickly to customer needs and unplanned driver route interruptions
  • Great customer service skills
  • Requires analytical capabilities and extreme attention to accuracy
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive and fast paced environment. Highly accountable for the success of business objectives
  • Patience required when dealing with a variety of audiences, being responsive to other’s needs
  • Problem solving/decision making skills, strong analytical skills, computer literacy, attention to detail and effective time management. Strong communication and relationship building capabilities.
  • Action oriented and accountable. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
