DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Snow Removal of the Village, Blue Mountain Resort, Resort Affiliated and Contracted Properties utilizing shovels, snow blowers, skid steers and truck mounted plows
- Assisting with Groomer Duty which will require several hours on the hill directing guests, pulling ribbons and moving from location to location via ski/board, snowmobile or truck
- Applying Ice Melt and/or Sand as required manual or by utilizing Epoke or truck mounted sander
- Monitoring material levels in SOS Bins
- Conduct Ice Patrols and assess general hazards to ensure the safety of our guests and employees
- Record detailed notes on activities and material applications throughout shift
- Hand Cleaning on-going and as necessary
- Performance of other Grounds related duties as requested (including those relating to waste management)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Should enjoy working outdoors and be able to handle and function in inclement weather conditions without complaint
- Must be able to accommodate an afternoon/evening shift (11.5 hrs) and a schedule which includes parts of a weekend (4 On 4 Off – 3 On 3 Off)
- A willingness to work additional hours and shifts as required
- Must be physically fit – able to lift and carry heavy materials and perform repetitive tasks involving shoveling, bending, stretching, walking and kneeling
- Must be able to operate a range of equipment from simple handheld tools to snow blowers to mid-sized snow removal equipment (skid steers and plow truck) – training provided for the later
- Must be able to follow established procedures, take responsibility for completing assigned tasks and document
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Experience in minor maintenance and repair of equipment an asset
- Must be safety conscious and wear required safety equipment when on the job
- Experience in snow removal an asset
- Experience in snowmobile operation an asset (internal training provided regardless)
- Knowledge of Resort an asset
- Valid Class “G” Drivers Licence in good standing required
*Position to start approximately for the end of November 2015
