The organization, International Society Cell & Gene Therapy (ISCT) is a global association of clinicians, scientists, regulators, technologists and industry partners driving the translation of scientific research to deliver innovative cellular therapies to patients. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, the ISCT global head office facilitates the interactions between academia, government and biotech/pharma sector to enable the translation of research into practice and product.

The opportunity: Reporting to the Director of Global Operations and Regulatory Affairs, the Member Services and Operations Administrator is a full time, fixed term (16 month) employee and will provide administrative services and management support to ISCT.

Job Purpose: The Administrator will be responsible for administrative support and execution of key member services and related projects.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage membership database metrics, execute annual recruitment campaigns and act as key contact for key regional leadership and membership
  • Provide direct membership and general inquiry support services to ISCT’s global Members
  • Track and manage all (individual, lab, industry) membership accounts and provide quarterly growth metrics
  • Manage and maintain up to date information on the Society website and social media portals
  • Provide administrative support to committees in a global setting, across numerous time zones (eg; global government relations committee, scientific committees)
  • Other job-specific responsibilities as required

General team responsibilities include:

  • Provide the highest standard of service in a growing and high performance environment
  • Maintain a strong professional image, consistent with the ISCT’s brand
  • Work with management to set and attain individual goals which align with Society goals
  • Support the entire ISCT team in day-to-day operations by providing vacation coverage for colleagues, sharing knowledge and experience, training new employees, and providing assistance beyond the range of normal job duties at busy times (e.g., during conferences), etc.
  • Other team responsibilities as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with web design programs (WordPress, etc) and basic CMS systems, and social media platforms
  • Thrive in multi-tasking, team-oriented and deadline-driven environments
  • A second language will be considered an asset
  • A background in business administration or science will be considered an asset
  • Documentation to legally work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, work permit, etc).

Key/Unique Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree (business or science preferable)
  • Work experience in a client-facing role or comparable professional experience
  • Global cultural awareness and experience working in a global setting
  • Superior business writing and editing skills
