Located out of our Calgary office, the individual in the Manager, Logistics will report to the Manager, PDH Commercial Development. The Manager, Logistics to support the development of rail strategies for the PDH and Polypropylene project. Key Activities and Responsibilities: Lead the negotiation of agreements with rail companies and work closely with all internal and external counter-parties to ensure the most efficient and economically sound outcome that supports the project economics; Negotiate with other counter-parties to ensure proper connection to the site; Negotiate rates with multiple carriers prior to start up and throughout the operation to reduce costs to IPL Provide input to the rail yard design and construction and requirements for Approval to Operate under the Railway (Alberta) Act; Responsible for the optimization and the lease or purchase of railcars, the acquisition analysis, negotiation and delivery of the railcar fleet and ongoing fleet management Direct, manage and coordinate logistics, transportation, cross border customs documentation, production accounting and customer service activities. Conduct multi-modal freight analysis and modelling as well as rail fleet acquisition analysis; Direct, manage and coordinate logistics, transportation, cross border customs documentation, production accounting and customer service activities. Run sensitivity modelling, negotiation strategy modelling and economic analysis, and present sound recommendation to senior leadership; Education, Skills and Experience: University degree, preferably in Engineering or Business 15 years of experience related to logistics and rail in the energy/petrochemicals industry. Candidates with relevant experience in the fertilizer industry will also be considered due to the similar nature of their logistics and transportation requirements Strong business acumen, ability to negotiate and close deals A proven track record in delivering results on schedule, quality and budget Ability to influence through interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills Experience with strategic planning and leadership skills
