We are looking to fulfill a full time biostatistician/SAS programmer position at the Université de Montréal Beaulieu-Saucier Pharmacogenomics Centre, located at the Montreal Heart Institute in Montreal, Canada. Job description: The successful applicant will join an established multidisciplinary research team at the Montreal Heart Institute working in the field of cardiovascular disease genomics and pharmacogenomics. Ongoing projects include the post-hoc analysis of cardiovascular clinical trial studies. The statistician will perform post-hoc data analyses of large phase 3 cardiovascular clinical trial databases.

Specific tasks include: – Develop and validate SAS code including macros for the manipulation of datasets and analyses. – Develop statistical analysis plans that include details of the analytical sets, sensitivity analyses, subgroup analyses, step-by-step analytical processes and the reported statistics. – Generate descriptive statistics and perform statistical analyses according to plans. – Produce statistical analysis reports that include the analysis approach, the accuracy of the data, the results and their interpretation.

  • Work with a multidisciplinary research team to help with the formulation of specific study hypotheses, study designs and study objectives, and to propose consequent statistical methods in line with the specific aims of the research projects. Required qualifications: – A BSc’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, mathematics or epidemiology – A minimum of 3 years of experience in SAS programming in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries – Strong SAS programming skills in data step manipulation, macro language and major statistical procedures In-depth knowledge in the following areas would be considered a plus: – Familiarity with publication process – French and English written and oral communication skills – Genetics – Knowledge of other programming software Qualified applicants should send resume/curriculum vitae, and a brief summary of past accomplishments via email to: dotation@icm-mhi.org Web sites: www.statgen.org, www.pharmacogenomics.ca
