We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team! The Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This SA will also participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
The objective of the Systems of Networking department is to administer the information system and communication infrastructure of the company in order to support the functional operations of the different departments within the organization and contribute to organizational growth.
Position Specific Responsibilities
Maintain the critical services availability at a level of 99.95% and actively looks for optimal solutions to keep it at this level
Deployment, management and systems maintenance of active directory environment: Microsoft Windows Servers, Exchange, IIS, create users and shares, assign access rights, etc.
Management and system maintenance of VMware virtual infrastructure
Management and system maintenance of network security, firewalls and access rules
Deployment, management and systems maintenance of network services: Windows Load Balancing, DSL, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SSH, SSL, VPN, etc
Management and maintenance of backup, failover and DR systems
Designing and deploying backup/recovery strategies
Management and systems maintenance of Unix/Linux Servers, Sendmail, Apache, Samba and other servers
Providing ideas and solutions to aid with the management and growth of servers within our organization and our client’s organizations
Research and development of newer and more efficient technologies to better aid the Network Management and System Administration process
Work with business/functional personnel, business analysts, and internal/external development personnel to ensure successful project completion within established objectives
Maintenance of the IT products inventory, incidents journal, maintenance jobs, virus protection and passwords
Research pricing for equipment
Maintenance of the company intranet and company websites
Rotational office on-call service to support company critical services
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong networking knowledge: switching, routing, firewalls, wireless LAN, TCP/IP, proxy servers, SNMP, WMI Network Management with NMS, etc.
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers 2008/2008R2/2012, Active Directory, Microsoft Windows network load balancing, Windows Vista/7/8, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, etc.
Strong knowledge of IIS7/IIS8 web servers administration
Practical experience in hardware maintenance
Basic working knowledge of Linux environment, Linux servers, Apache server, Samba server in Active Directory environment, Sendmail
Knowledge of network services and communication protocols (FTP, Telnet, SSH, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL)
Knowledge of MS SQL, MySQL RDBMS and their specific tools: SQL, Transact SQL, Enterprise manager, Query Analyzer, phpmyadmin
Knowledge of backup principles and of at least one backup tool (preferable Unitrends, Veeam, Symantec NetBackup)
Knowledge of the Internet, search engines and directories
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Very good attention to detail and strong organizational skills
MUST possess a strong work ethic
Self motivated and keen to demonstrate initiative
Goal oriented and career minded
Bachelor’s degree (or professional accreditation) in Computer Science or a related field 2+ years technical experience with a proven track record of systems management and working in a Microsoft Windows Environment
