ImagineAbility Inc. is a non-profit agency supporting people with intellectual disabilities. We are currently seeking a Direct Support Worker to support people in work settings in the community. We aim to provide the best care and necessary resources for the people we support in order to discover their potential, enhance their experiences, and expand their knowledge, all with the aim of increasing the quality of their lives.

This is an open ended term position. We are seeking for an immidiate start date with no ending date in this term position.

Overall Responsibility

Direct Support Worker is responsible for the ongoing direct support for people accessing ImagineAbility’s Supported Employment Services. This includes relationship-building, getting to know the person, setting up goals, following up on and documenting peoples’ accomplishments, supporting them in work settings, participating in meetings, being a liaison between caregivers and our agency, as well as ensuring peoples’ safety both within and outside of our facilities.

Direct Support Worker is expected to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the team. This position requires to work in the existing enclave. It requires knowledge of Winnipeg Transit Bus System.

This position requires a clear Criminal Record check, Adult Abuse Registry and Child Abuse Registry check.

Starting salary is $28,000 a year.

Reporting duty is to the on-site Community Services Manager.

- A good understanding of the Vulnerable Persons

- A good understanding of Winnipeg Transit System
