Main profile:

The Accountant reports to the CFO. He/she carries out on a daily base journal / bookkeeping entries, updating financial statements, preparing financial reports, calculating taxes, auditing and maintaining accounts payable and receivable, asset, banks.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

College degree, Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) with at least 3-5 years’ experience preferably with a large, International Accounting Firm or with relevant industry experience.

• Strong technical accounting skills. Knowledge of both US and Canadian GAAP is an asset.
• Knowledge of Sage Simply accounting software is an asset, both Canadian and US version.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, thorough and conscientious.
• Results oriented, fast tracker, autonomous.
• Strong interpersonal skills & the ability to communicate clearly, both spoken and written.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel techniques.*
• Fluent in English and French Languages, Italian could be beneficial* *
• Based in Montreal area.*

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform bank and credit card reconciliation
• Cash flow analysis
• Maintain petty cash book
• Prepare and file relevant tax documents to the tax authorities (GST, QST, HST returns and US tax returns)
• Prepare invoices and send to clients.
• Prepare relevant Purchase orders
• Prepare checks/wire transfer for payment to suppliers when due.
• Follow up on outstanding receivables and record payment received in the books
• Process expenses reimbursements of the employees and process payments.
• Process US payroll on ADP
• Perform month end closing, including inventory reconciliation, prepaid, accrued liabilities, interco balance.
• Prepare other reports as requested by the CFO
