Materials Handler (Temporary – 3 Months)

Position Highlights Based at our warehouse in Burnaby, our Logistics department has an opportunity for a Materials Handler to join their team! This position will be responsible for performing all warehousing, records retention/retrieval and distribution services for internal and external clients.

Your responsibilities include: • Ensuring corporate assets are received, shipped, documented and disposed of in a secure, accurate and efficient manner • Receiving, documenting and storing files and boxes of files for archive and general storage • Operating a forklift, and other material handling equipment and tools as required • Maintaining records of activities and provides reports and relevant information to internal customers and external business partners as required • Basic administrative tasks including data entry of file/box information into database, assigns box and shelf numbers and labels boxes for efficient accessibility and retrieval • Pulling file boxes for destruction • Performing physical counts of corporate assets

Position Requirements Successful candidates will have: • Previous experience in a computerized warehousing, distribution or transportation environment is considered a strong asset • Strong attention to detail and experience performing administrative tasks • Excellent customer service skills • Basic computer skills • Physical ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, operate power equipment and constantly bend, lift and carry heavy packages or boxes • A relevant power equipment certification, such as electric forklift, order picker and electric pallet mover
