IATSE Local 891 – The Union behind entertainment (film industry) is seeking qualified Plasterers.

Candidates for this position must be able to work well within a team and perform tasks as directed by their supervisor.

Plasterer requirements:
The applicant must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience

Have experience in preparing, mixing the application of concrete, drywall mix, or any other similar substance to crate a faux finish. This shall include the preparation of moulds for casting on plant-on ornamentation (plaster, rubber, or fiberglass resins).

Should have experience in the construction of armatures/foundations for the making of rocks, or foundations for formation of rock caves or similar structures.

Should submit a picture portfolio of their work in jpeg files

The applicant should have WHMIS

The applicant should have a TDG – Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate

The applicant should be familiar with respiratory protection and personal safety equipment. The applicant should have valid Aerial Boom/Scissor lift and Fall Protection certificates.

Short term contract work to start immediately in various locations within Metro Vancouver. This is the film business, expect to work a lot of overtime hours. Shift work may be required as well as weekend work. This position is physically demanding.
