HyLife Foods, a division of the HyLife organization and leading primary pork processor for domestic and world markets is seeking an experienced Director of Finance . This position is based in the vibrant community of Neepawa, Manitoba which has a reputation for its beauty and high quality of life.

Director of Finance

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, this position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions:

  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports
  • Oversee several Accounting Managers/Analysts and support them in the preparation and completion of month-end accounting closes for subsidiaries, including monthly consolidated financial statements
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting
  • Review and improve transactional procedures and internal controls
  • Lead, manage and provide oversight of the annual budget process, including the development of the budget model
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills with ability to interpret financial results to key stakeholders
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Professional CPA (CA, CGA or CMA) designation
  • Must have strong analytical, teamwork, leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work in dynamic environment with focus on continuous improvement
  • Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Advanced computer skills with accounting, manufacturing, & MS software
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Agricultural or manufacturing background would be an asset
