Power Up Your Career this Summer at Hydro Ottawa!

We are hiring post-secondary students like you and equipping them with an experience that will help to advance their career. Hydro Ottawa offers challenging work in many diverse student-centred roles, and an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to our customers and the community we serve.

See what some of our former students have said about their summer experience with us:

“I believe the company has excelled in all aspects for summer students, from making them feel welcome, creating a comfortable environment, and giving support when needed”

“Hydro Ottawa made it a priority to bring all of the students together at least once a month in order to further teach us important skills for future success, to receive our feedback about the company and our summer experiences, and to express the company’s appreciation for us. They encourage us to have a voice and trust our ideas will make a difference to Hydro Ottawa.”

This is the best summer student placement I have had. Everyone is welcoming and Hydro Ottawa goes above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable and educational”

What’s required?

You are a student who will be entering or returning to full-time studies at an accredited college or university in the fall of 2017 and want a great experience to assist with your development. You enjoy working on a team to make things happen but can hold your own if need be. Your experiences have allowed you to become a skilled communicator, both verbally and in writing, and you’ve mastered organization and time management because of your busy school/life schedule. You have excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, integrity and a commitment to quality and learning that you want to put to good use. Finally, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

What we need from you:

Selected candidates will be able to work full-time from May 1 to August 25, 2017 or September 1, 2017. Once you successfully make it through the interview process, a positive reference and background verification check is required, which may include providing a driver abstract and successfully completing a driver competency assessment (if applicable to your role). When you are here, completing the Passport to Safety Program and providing proof of enrollment for the 2017/18 academic year will be required. Then the fun really begins!
