Title: Communications & Development Assistant (NOC 1123)

The participant will work closely with the President or Executive Director, along with mentoring and business communication experience shared from partners Moffatt and Powell and CIBC to provide communications and development assistance for the Hyde Park Business Association – Business Improvement Area. Activities will include:

  • Work with Marketing and Event team lead to support creation of communications package and tools while identifying benefits of a Business Improvement Area within designated geographical boundaries
  • Communicate with stakeholders in person, on the phone, meetings, and online
  • Work with team to support planning and organizing of Business Networking Events and Roundtable discussions
  • Develop and maintain a database of commercial/industrial property and business owners and other pertinent information
  • Aid in the development of a business plan as it relates to the BIA

Experience with internet, email, MS Office software
Orientation to create and work with the Hyde Park Business Association database: data entry to capture all businesses within the BIA geographical area to pull various queries; to create reports, record responses, record statistics
Skills to be utilized will include business development and communication with business and property owners
Experience as a community ambassador for the Hyde Park Business Association
