HVE Healthcare Assessments is growing and is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their Finance Department. You will be working in the Accounting department with the Finance Manager, Accountant and 2 Accounting Assistants.

Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (Flexible work hours required as determined by Manager).

Compensation: $17.00/hour starting rate (subject to review, if position goes permanent).

Location: Vaughan (260 Edgeley Blvd, L4K 3Y4)

Public Transportation: Office is 10 minute walk from Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.

Personal Vehicle: Parking is not available directly on the premises. Parking is available at Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.

Essential Job Duties/Tasks:

Accounts Payable

  • Review and approve vendor invoices
  • Record vendor invoices in the accounting system (doctor’s, consultant’s and vendor invoices)
  • Review and resolve all vendor outstanding lists
  • Process disbursements
  • Resolve vendors discrepancies
  • Recording monthly credit card expense transactions
  • Other duties as assigned

Accounts Receivable

  • Researches cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts
  • Develop automated spreadsheets
  • Contact customers on receivable matters (e.g. collections and queries pertaining to customer’s accounts)
  • Collecting information to import into customer’s monthly reports

General Ledger

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts – including but not limited to cash, accounts receivables, AR Pending, accounts payable, and expense accounts
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of reports
  • Creating invoices (AISI and HVE invoices)
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, annual audits (corporate, customers and vendors)
  • Other various accounting projects as needed

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Smart Simple, IME Workflow, SecureDox, HCAI, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Accounting Diploma or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Skills:

  • Self-Starter who is able to learn quickly and complete tasks independently
  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities and deadlines and adapt to evolving processes and procedures
