Under the direction of the Director, Facilities Management, the Energy Efficiency Manager will be responsible for reducing Humber’s energy and water use over time to meet targets set in Humber’s Integrated Energy Master Plan (IEMP) of 50% compared to the 2014 baseline. The goal is to take Humber from a leader in Ontario, to a global leader in energy efficiency. The total capital investment in energy efficiency projects is expected to exceed $50,000,000 over the next 5 to 8 years, which will include developing, tendering and project managing projects to reduce energy use, and tracking results using submeter data. The incumbent will be the institutional ‘subject matter expert’ related to energy consumption, and will have input into Humber’s technical standards as well as new building and renovation design through an energy lens. The incumbent will also promote initiatives both inside and outside the organization.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a university degree in a relevant field of study, such as Environmental Studies, Engineering, or Science, as well as a ‘Certified Energy Manager’ designation. PMP and LEED certification will be considered an asset. In addition, the incumbent must have minimum of five years’ experience in energy efficiency management, and strong knowledge of HVAC, lighting building envelope systems in relation to energy efficiency, operations and life cycle costing. Additional qualifications include: proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to explain complex technical concepts to senior management or other College groups; experience in writing clear and concise reports for the lay person; and strong Microsoft Office computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel pivot tables.
