Overview of Position:
HUB Financial has a dynamic 15 month maternity leave contract for a driven, enthusiastic Human Resources professional with superior relationship building skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, and changing environment. This role will report to the Chief People Officer, and supports the President of Hub Financial and the management team in creating a culture of accountability and team work. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will support the development, engagement and growth of colleagues and is an ideal role for a hands-on HR professional with strong business acumen and providing HR value across the business. This role is based in Woodbridge, Ontario.
Responsibilities:
The HR Business Partner will champion HR services within a national client group to best service the needs of the growth and development of HUB Financial. The successful candidate will serve as a consultant to client groups on a broad range of organizational issues; anticipate business needs and provide effective solutions aligned with the divisional business objectives.
Duties to include:
Develops and monitors workforce plans for client groups; partners with the Hiring Managers for support and guidance and influence key talent decisions.
Works with a shared services team to manage talent acquisition, oversees the talent management process through identification and assessment of talent strengths and development opportunities; supports management in the preparation of employee development plans to ensure employees are prepared for future opportunities. Conducts and analyzes behavioural assessments as needed and onboards new talent.
Implements and monitors effectiveness of HR processes such as performance management, merit increase process, compensation changes and succession planning.
Calculates marketing variable incentive compensation quarterly including preparation of marketing target letters.
Identifies and implements strategies and initiatives designed to meet company growth and retention goals through collaboration with the leadership team and analyzing employee engagement survey scores.
Provides coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers as around areas such as performance management, discipline process (up to and including terminations), and other employment practices.
Effectively communicates HR services, programs and policies to management and employees.
Coordinates and conducts training to management and employees as required.
Health & Safety responsibilities including compliance, training, tracking, inspections and incident reporting.
HR administration including benefits/RRSP administration, performance and attendance management, disability/LOA management, recognition programs, payroll coordination, holiday schedules, maintenance of employee files.
Provides HR monthly reporting.
Works with Chief People Officer with on HR projects and programs as required.
Required Skills
Required Experience
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors’ Degree or College Diploma or equivalent years of experience
Minimum 2 years of HR Generalist experience ideally with start up and growing organizations providing national support
In-depth knowledge of employee legislation across Canada, HR processes, programs, policies and systems and ability to communicate to employees and management;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
Strong MS-Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
Strong communication and presentation skills;
Able to deal effectively with ambiguity and change;
Strong collaboration and customer focused approach
