Responsible for the reporting and analysis required to support HSBC Regulatory Reporting processes, meet regulatory requirements and help manage HSBC Risk and Capital adequacy.
Timely reporting to Local regulators, analyzing results and providing business commentaries.
Analysis of proposed Regulatory changes and determining the changes to reporting systems and processes necessary to meet the new requirements.
This position will also require you to identify trends, provide business analysis, manage assessments, and lead activities related to the application of new financial systems.
Impact on the Business
Manage process, produce results and ensure data accuracy and completeness for AOP/ LE submissions
Manage process, produce results and ensure data accuracy and completeness for Stress Testing submissions
Ensure data accuracy, completeness of LOB reporting
Ensure the completeness and integrity of HSBC Bank Canada’s financial data being used in the regulatory returns.
Analyze data to determine, validate and comment on trends in the credit portfolio
Preparation and filing of the local regulatory reporting package for the Canadian banking regulators including Pillar3 reporting
Keep the documentation (Desk Instruction Manuals) up to date and signed off
Keep track of Regulatory changes, gap analysis, QIS and its impact on the reports and filings to Regulators
Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.

Ensure no penalties from Regulators
Customers / Stakeholders
External: Local Regulators (OSFI, CDIC etc.), Group Regulators (PRA, EBA etc.)
Internal: Supports other Bank areas (other finance areas, business units, the Group, Audit, Legal) by providing timely and accurate information, reports and assistance.
Leadership & Teamwork
Works with the Regulatory Reporting team and other teams within Finance, Risk and IT to streamline Regulatory Reporting and reducing End User Computing by using FTP and other systems as primary source for Reporting
Work independently and effectively with team through communication, performance management, development plans and reward/recognition practices.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
Work required extremely complex analysis as this entails understanding and implementing new regulatory rules. The jobholder is expected to liaise with Credit Risk Management, IT, Operations and OSFI in order to resolve issues.
Responsible for ensuring the delivery of data and analysis in order for HBCA to meet OSFI reporting requirements.
As the position requires frequent communication with Finance staff in Canada, the United States and United Kingdom, branches and other Head Office departments, the ability to be proactive in identifying issues and developing/communicating solutions/recommendations is critical.
It is important to stay current on regulatory reporting requirements in Canada, as changes may have significant impacts on the responsibilities.
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Ensure up to date documentations/manuals of all processes.
Ensure that all employees are aware of and effectively identify and manage applicable money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), sanctions and reputational risks.
Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.

Mental Demands: Considerable mental demands can be experienced by pressure from frequent deadlines, work interruptions, unpredictable or frustrating situations and simultaneous priorities and deadlines during quarter and year-ends. Normal office environment. Must be able to handle a diverse series of projects and initiatives while maintaining tight timelines and deadlines relating to MI production, reporting and analytics.
The incumbent must be able to be fully conversant with the I.T. and technology systems currently in use within the various business units of the bank, including Finance systems such as HUB, TREATS, Sysgen (general ledger) Hyperion, Cognos, and other systems and applications.
Management of Risk
Ensure compliance of both general and anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing (AML/ATF) compliance controls as well as operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues
Observation of Internal Controls
Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Qualifications
Degree in business, finance or related field, plus a professional accounting designation (CA/CMA/CGA).
Strong Treasury Products knowledge is desirable.
7-15 years of work experience in complex/senior functions within the financial services industry preferably in the similar role.
Strong knowledge of the Regulatory banking environment and familiarity with risk management
Experience in dealing with regional and/or global related entities is an asset.
Advanced systems skills Excel, ESSBASE, ACCESS, Database management etc.
