Job Description:

HR Project Partners Inc. (HRPP) is a Human Resources consulting company offering various services in Human Resources, both to individuals and to companies. One of those services is recruitment for companies on a provincial and national basis.

HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a IT Support Technician on behalf of one of our Clients. The ideal applicant would have experience in desktop computing support and operating a computer network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Telephone and Television systems, etc.).

This position is located in Labrador. This will be a Fly-in/Fly-out role, rotation to be discussed. Travel may be required within the region.

Responsibilities:

The IT Support Technician reports to the Senior IT Administrator and ensures the satisfactory day-to-day operation of a computer network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Telephone & Television systems etc.) and also provides desktop computing support.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, document and resolve technical issues surrounding Laptop/Desktop, Network Devices, mobile devices, IP Phones and other IT hardware/peripherals. (Printers, Scanners, Fax machine etc.);
  • Provide technical support to all employees across all locations, in person or remotely, related to software/hardware problems and network access;
  • Build and deploy desktop/Laptop computers, Printers and other equipment pieces (televisions, projectors, Access points, switches etc.);
  • Complete all hardware and software requests in a timely fashion, keeping the users aware of the status while ensuring requests are completed to their satisfaction. Requests can include, but not limited to: troubleshooting network, security, and hardware issues, maintenance and repair of all hardware pieces and installation and upgrades of existing hardware;
  • Work on and close IT Helpdesk tickets within the departments;
  • Escalate any issue regarding Office 365 email, Active Directory Account, Exchange serve , and User Access permission request for file share to Sr. IT Administrator;
  • Act as a reference on technology trends and processes, conducting research to stay current on changes to the industry;
  • Maintain proper records of issue and maintenance of hardware. Ensure Inventory Assets Management system is always up to date;
  • Keep proper maintenance and record updates for License Software inventory;
  • Be customer focused while adhering to company policy and be able to provide ad-hoc support to the departments and various individuals as needed; and
  • Assist in creating reports, and presentations for the IT department, as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems;
  • 5 years minimum relevant IT experience with strong analysis and technical problem-solving abilities;
  • Good knowledge of VM Ware desirable;
  • Good knowledge of Windows7/8/10, Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory and CISCO networking;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio;
  • Microsoft certificate MCP, MCSA will be an asset;
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently with little direction;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to forecast, analyze and work under pressure;
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; and
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.
