About this Position

The Hockey Hall of Fame is seeking a detail-oriented, sales-driven and marketing savvy professional responsible for the development and execution of strategies and programs designed to generate group, FIT and travel package business, as well as assisting in the formulation of marketing budgets and creative concepts. This is a contract position (one-year Mat leave coverage) that adheres to predominantly standard business hours, however, some evening and weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and foster relationships with existing and potential group clients through tour, sales call, outreach and networking opportunities
  • Develop and execute strategies to generate new group business in both grassroots and unconventional markets
  • Package, promote and organize fulfillment of travel and special event packages
  • Develop and execute event plans, critical paths and itineraries for outreach events
  • Establish and maintain relationships with fellow associates in the travel and sports industry
  • Create and analyze marketing surveys
  • Collaborate as a member of the Marketing Team, in the creation and implementation of campaign concepts, special events and programs

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years related sales experience in the hospitality/tourism industry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong knowledge of the game of hockey
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and ideally Photoshop
  • Marketing experience and/or degree advantageous
  • Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) qualifications , in particular the Travel Counsellor and Supervisor/Manager certification, is considered a strong asset
