Hines Industrial Site Services Group is looking to hire an Accounting Technician . This position will be responsible for accurately recording transactions in the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and the Inventory sub-ledgers, between multiple companies. This versatile role will also perform some administration duties that will assist site management with daily operations.

Job Duties

  • Daily invoice entry into the accounts payable sub-ledger
  • Creating system purchase orders, entering goods receipts, matching of purchasing documents
  • Inventory counting and working with site inventory people to gather counted data documents
  • Entering purchasing requisition data from site
  • Working closely with key vendors on purchase orders and for available and substitute items
  • Intercompany reconciliation
  • Monthly reconciliation of all vendor accounts
  • Daily / Weekly / Monthly billing of Labor, Equipment, Material and Lump Sum Jobs
  • Uploading billing into customer systems as required, on time to meet customer KPIs
  • Preparing monthly billing reports for customers, contributing at customer contract status meetings
  • Applying customer payments weekly in the accounts receivable sub-ledger
  • Collecting outstanding receivables and reconciliation of all customer accounts
  • Preparing a monthly revenue and expense accrual and entering the journal voucher in SAP B1
  • Responding to customer and vendor inquiries
  • Accurate record keeping; saving backup as required using established conventions for file naming
  • Assisting the accountant with routine journal entries by entering journal vouchers in SAP B1 for AFDA, Capital Assets, EFT payments etc.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficiency with accounting systems
  • Data entry accuracy, very high attention to detail
  • Extremely organized and able to remain productive to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, while knowing when to ask for assistance


  • Minimum 2-year Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration
  • Working towards the CPA Designation, with good understanding of GAAP accounting principles
  • 3 – 5 years experience at an intermediate level of accounting
  • 1 – 2 years supervisor experience
  • Experience using SAP and SAPB1 applications would be an asset
  • Experience with inventory processing and billing major oilfield customers would be an asset
  • Advanced Microsoft excel skills would be an asset
