Position: Junior Software Developer

Location: Calgary, Alberta (Full time permanent)

Position Summary:

High Arctic Energy Services is currently targeting a Junior Software Developer, based out of our corporate Calgary office. Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Software, the Junior Software Developer will work directly with the existing senior development team on new features and ongoing maintenance for web based, oil and gas regulatory software. The successful hire will be expected to combine and adapt existing programs, use various design and development tools, work from specifications developed by specialists, analyze requirements while also documenting programs and procedures. End user support and feature testing are also requirements of the role.

Key Requirements:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Tech Stack using MVC, Entity Framework, C#, .NET, and SQL Server
  • Experience with Bootstrap and J-Query
  • Possess skills with various supporting tools such as Team City, Octopus, SVN, Jira and N-Unit
  • Familiar with OOP development, SOLID principles and Design Patterns
  • Oil and Gas regulatory knowledge is considered a significant asset: D13, SCFV and LMR
  • Oil and Gas industry knowledge is considered a significant asset

Education and Additional Qualifications:

  • Computer Science Degree or relevant Diploma in software development or related discipline
  • 2+ years in a software development role
  • Proven track record of problem solving and determination in the workplace
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to remain incredibly detail oriented, analytical and highly organized
  • Comfortable in team oriented settings
