We are looking for an experienced IT Manager to provide technical expertise and advice that supports Hemmera’s growth, development and execution of the strategic plan. The successful candidate is a self-starter with the abilities to work and interact in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and technical expertise to the IT team which reflects Hemmera’s strategic goals, vison and values.

Guide the successful achievement of the objectives set out in Hemmera’s Strategic Plan, in collaboration with the other members of our leadership team.

Ensure overall success of people management within IT including human capital development, recruitment, employee engagement, retention and satisfaction.

Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with internal departments and data centre.

Verify application results by conducting systems audits of technologies implemented.

Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures, information security and control structures.

Recommend information technology strategies, polices and procedures through identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements.

Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, analyzing variances and initiating corrective action plans.

Maintain a quality service by establishing and enforcing Hemmera’s standards of work.

Ensure an IT infrastructure platform that will support Hemmera’s growth plans.

Provide leadership for IT Governance within the company.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training, workshops, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Minimum of 10 years recent related experience in an information systems technical environment.

Information Systems Professional (ISP) designation is preferred.

Strong leadership and decision making skills.

Excellent communication skills and able to converse with colleagues whose computer literacy varies widely.

Ability to identify strategic solutions that help improve the overall performance of the company and maintain quality.

Ability to evaluate and articulate purchasing options and negotiate with vendors such as Dell, Terago, Cell phones, etc.

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to analyze, prioritize, plan and implement systems projects.

Experience assisting remote staff

Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive “can-do” attitude

Strong service orientation and commitment to supporting internal staff

Effective leadership in managing the execution of large programs across business lines

Very effective in communications with senior management

Hands-on, details driven while having the ability to understand the overall strategic direction

Willingness to provide end user support when required
