The primary duties of the Intermediate Transportation Engineer/Planner include providing transportation planning and traffic engineering services for public and private sector clients. This includes traffic operations studies, safety studies, traffic management, signal coordination studies, traffic impact studies, and parking studies. Participation in other projects include providing traffic engineering support for transit and highway planning and design studies, corridor feasibility studies, environmental assessments, LRT/BRT studies, and microsimulation modelling. Qualifications
Degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or related field required. 5+ years related transportation and traffic experience is required. Candidate should possess computer skills and working experience using one of Aimsun or Vissim Microsimulation Software in urban environments with transit signal priority or other transit priority measures, Synchro/SimTraffic, Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint). Any other experience with modelling and support software such as Legion, Viswalk, Paramics, Python, GIS or Autocad / Microsimulation or ITS experience are strong assets. Strong organizational, verbal and written skills. Ability to multi-task while working on many projects at once. A positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
