Unit Summary The Autism Spectrum Disorder Service (ASD) is comprised of MCYS-funded services located at the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre and includes: the Regional Autism Intervention Program, local Autism Intervention services for Hamilton, Regional School Support Program, Regional Applied Behaviour Analysis program, and other ambulatory services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. These services have strong links with McMaster University’s Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, and the Offord Centre for Child Studies, an internationally acclaimed research centre focused on children with emotional and behavioural problems. The Social ABCs program is a 3-year demonstration of an evidenced-based 12-week intervention focused on coaching parents of toddlers with social communication concerns using Applied Behaviour Analysis via Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT).
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Program Psychologist, the Psychometrist’s responsibilities will include conducting assessments of toddler- and preschool-age clients (including writing reports and providing feedback to parents), and administering child and parent outcome measures.
Schedule Work Hours Monday to Friday, days; some evenings or weekends may be required

This position is temporary until November 2017

Qualifications
1. Master of Arts degree in Psychology or related area
2. Extensive experience in conducting assessments of toddlers and preschoolers with signs of autism, developmental disabilities, and/or emotional and behavioural needs, using a variety of tools
3. Extensive understanding of typical and atypical child development
4. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team setting
5. Demonstrated excellent organizational and time management skills
6. Demonstrated competency in computer usage
7. Actively supports and promotes healthy team functioning
8. Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process
9. Fluency in French will be considered an asset
