Position: Speech Language Pathologist

Department: Assess and Restore

Status: Temporary Part Time (approximately 8 months) must provide availability up to 0.5 FTE

Hours: Monday to Friday – Days – 7.5 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Site: Oakville

Responsibilities:
Assessment, treatment and consultation services for dysphagia and communication disorders to a mixed adult population which includes neurology, medical, surgical, ICU and geriatric clients on our inpatient acute care and complex continuing care units. Coverage in outpatients as needed.

Qualifications:
Halton Healthcare is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible.

Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology
Current registration with the college of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario.
Swallowing assessment skills including video fluoroscopic studies are essential.
Excellent Organization, Time Management and Communication Skills
Ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
Flexible to meet the changing demands of a mixed caseload and the two sites.
1-2 years experience in assessment & treatment of dysphagia
Satisfactory employment and attendance record
