Hairsine Community League is accepting applications for the Ice Maker position for the 2016-2017 winter season. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Employees will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Hairsine Outdoor Ice Rinks (2 rink total). Employees will be responsible for the regular maintenance and upkeep of the outdoor rinks along with ensuring a safe working environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Installation and maintenance of the ice
Snow removal of both ice rinks

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of ice making and maintenance
Effective problem solving and communication skills
Related experience
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Possess and maintain police security clearance
Possess and maintain valid First Aid/CPR

Physical Demands:
Must lift or carry up to 10 pounds continuously, 50 pounds frequently
Must be able to work on slippery surfaces frequently
Must be able to walk long distances on even and uneven surfaces continuously
Must be able to work in a variety of climates including extreme cold and warm weather

The ideal candidate will have experience in ice making and maintenance. The successful applicant will be placed in the appropriate classification based on related experience and qualifications. The option to take the ice making course through the City of Edmonton will be available.
