The Business Analyst will play an important role in continuing to build Groupon into a daily habit with our customers. We put the customer at the center of everything we do, and we’re seeking a hungry, data-driven analytics professional to help us keep focused on that mission. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional partners to understand performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop plans of action to maximize performance of customer growth programs. You will be required to understand and interpret data structures and business performance at various levels of detail in order to generate objective, data-driven, and actionable short and long-term recommendations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Understand Teradata table structure to create and automate efficient SQL queries

  • Strategic ad hoc analysis into specific verticals to provide insights to the teams

  • Develop insights to identify areas of opportunity, and take action through partnership with Sales, Marketing and Merchant support teams

  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate data to understand customer/market trends and communicate it the management

  • Measure effectiveness of marketing campaigns and promotions

  • Generate usable and efficient reporting to track performance of sales, marketing and merchant services teams on key business initiatives using BI Tools (Tableau)

  • Be able to use (or learn to use) business intelligence/analytics tools and internal CRM tools (i.e. Teradata, SalesForce, Tableau, etc)

  • Facilitation of knowledge sharing across the management team and the broader business

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within eCommerce

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Business, or Economics

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Self-starter, fast learner, adaptive to fast-paced working environment

  • Good time management and organisational skills

  • Excellent team-working skills required

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills required

  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases and SQL

  • Significant experience using Tableau

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Hive/Hadoop knowledge is a plus

  • Experience using Salesforce highly regarded
